The extravagant king of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn (67), constantly shocks the public, and his intriguing love life and often bizarre decisions regularly end up on the pages of the world press. For example, at the end of March this year, due to the corona virus pandemic, he isolated himself with 20 of his concubines in one of the most luxurious hotels in Germany.

This time, he came into the public spotlight because he returned the royal title and all the honors that go with it to his official mistress - Sinenat Vongvajirapakdi, 33 years younger, after he took it all away from her almost a year ago and replaced her, writes the BBC.
Namely, Sinenat had the official title of royal partner, which is usually given to wives, or close partners, and she was the first to receive it in the last hundred years. Royal polygamy was a common thing in history, but the last time the king had an official mistress was in 1921. After Thailand was declared a constitutional monarchy in 1932, that title was no longer awarded, until the new king and the attractive Sinenat.

The king, also known as Rama X, took this confession away from the beautiful 35-year-old because she resented his wife. The palace explained that Sinenat was punished because she tried to rise to the same level as the queen.
She was accused of disloyalty and intrigue against Queen Sutida, and has not been seen in public since then and literally nothing was known about her. |
However, Rama X's new decision means that Ms. Wongwajirapakdi's reputation has been restored, and she will be treated as if her military ranks and royal decorations have never been taken away.
Sinetat was born in 1985 in the north of Thailand, and she worked as a nurse when she started a romance with the king a few years ago. After that, she completed military and pilot training, and became a member of the Royal Guard. At the beginning of 2019, she was promoted to general.
The real reason why Sinenat was left without all the medals overnight in October last year will probably never be clarified, given the secrecy of the royal family in Thailand. Recall, the laws there prohibit open writing about events at court.
The 35-year-old is not alone in this steep fall - a similar fate befell some of the king's wives. In 1996, Rama X renounced his ex-wife and four sons he had with her, who then fled to the United States. His third wife, Srirasmi Suvada, was similarly left without a title and was expelled from the court, while their son remained living with his father.
